Nursery Newsletter

Welcome back!
Firstly, we would like to welcome back our funded children. We hope you all had a wonderful Summer break and are ready for the Autumn term. For more information on term dates, please visit;

Room changes
Some of our staff have moved rooms this term. Please see below for changes:
Baby unit- Sandeep, Samahra and Sunita
Little Bears- Colmeta (Mel), Baldish (Bally) and Rukhsar
Pre-school- Shuzina and Helen
To find out who is your child’s new key person please check the boards in Main Unit garden or ask a member of staff.

Maternity cover
During Sarah’s maternity cover Shebi and Sanita will be co-managing the Nursery and Sidrah will be taking on the role of Deputy Manager.

We are planning a Startwell workshop for Thursday 20th September 2018 at 2.30pm. We will be setting up lots of fun activities to help us to make healthy choices. We really hope parents can make it! If your child is not registered for a Thursday afternoon they are still welcome to attend with a carer/parent.

Spare clothes
Please remember to bring a set of spare clothes in to nursery as we will probably be doing some messy activities and your child may need a change of clothes at some point. If your child is currently toilet training please bring in plenty of pants and bottoms.

Macmillan Coffee Morning
We will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support with a coffee morning on Friday 28th September 2018. Why not do some baking at home together and bring in your goodies for us to sell to raise money for this worthy cause? If you can spare 5 minutes in the morning feel free to have a read of your child’s learning journey book.

Packed lunch guidance
If you would like to bring in a packed lunch or snacks for your child to eat at nursery, please use the lunchbox guidance below;

Learning at home
We have lots of different learning at home packs for children of all ages including PE packs and Bear in the bag. If you would like to take one home- please ask a member of staff.

Pre-school book bags
Each pre-schooler has their own book bag which can be used to borrow books from nursery. You can add a diary entry to your reading diary and tell us which books you have enjoyed reading together at home. When you have 3 entries in your reading diary- ask your key person for a sticker!

New to nursery?
We would love to learn more about you and your family. You are welcome to complete an All About Me book at home where you can stick in any photographs and tell us a little about yourself. We plan to laminate these books and read them with children at nursery.

30 hours funding?
If you are eligible to receive the 30 hours funding please ensure you have provided us with your 11 digit verification code by Friday 28th September 2018. If we have not received the code by this date your child will not be able to access the 30 hours funding for this term.

As a childcare provider we all have a responsibility to safeguard each and every child in our care. This means if we are concerned that a child is at risk of significant harm we will report our concerns to the relevant agencies. More information can be found in our safeguarding policy. Flowcharts of the procedure we follow can be found on our parent’s board in Main Unit garden.
